Kinh Thưa Qúi Chú Bác Cuu SV/SQ/TBTD/QLVNCH, và Đại Gia-Đình Thủ Đức:
Thank you so much and indeed, I am humbled to have received so many congratulations from you and gia dinh Thu Duc.
My achievements as a scholar would not have been possible today without the many sacrifices made by you (as QLVNCH veterans) during the VN War and the aftermath of the war so that your children and I could have a better future; a future that is full of freedom and opportunities; and a future to become whoever we want to become in life (in my case, an engineer and officer).
As such, it is more appropriate for me to say thank you (including my own parents) for your many sacrifices which has made it possible for me to achieve academic success. I considered this not just an achievement for myself, but also an achievement for you and gia dinh Thu Duc as well. I will always be grateful to you for your many sacrifices. I have always lived my life with the belief that "nhung gi minh da huong tren doi, thi minh phai tra lai doi."
As such, I will certainly use my educational knowledge to continue to give something back and serve our gia dinh Thu Duc, community, and country in any capacity that I can in order to make our society a better place to live.
I am honored and privileged to be a part of gia dinh Thu Duc and proud to be a member of hau de Thu Duc. I will never forget where I came from and proud to be a Vietnamese-American (nguoi my goc viet).
Please pass along my thanks to those I may have missed. Take care, and I hope to see everyone again at future Thu Duc events or at community events.
